Dr. Saunders was born and raised in Calgary. She grew up playing competitive badminton which ultimately led to her coaching badminton to children. Dr. Saunders completed her undergraduate degree in Cellular, Molecular, and Microbial Biology at the University of Calgary and subsequently pursued a Master of Science in Neuroscience with a specialization in Medical Imaging. She attended medical school at the University of Calgary and completed her Pediatric residency at the Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary. Outside of work, Dr. Saunders loves spending time with her family and friends, soaking up the fresh mountain air, participating in spin and yoga classes, and listening to Taylor Swift and country music on repeat.
