Dr. Melanie (“Mel”) Purtzki

MD, FRCPC

Dr. Mel grew up in the Fraser Valley of British Columbia before relocating to Vancouver for her undergraduate degree. She received her Bachelor of Science in Behavioural Neuroscience and Anthropology. Prior to attending medical school at the University of British Columbia-Vancouver, she was involved in Nursing and Health Psychology research. She moved to Calgary, AB to complete her pediatric residency training at the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Dr. Mel is involved with medical student and resident training and teaching, and is a clinical lecturer for the University of Calgary. She has a keen interest in teaching the next generation of clinicians.

Dr. Mel is passionate about providing children of all ages and their families with the best possible care whether it is related to a medical or behavioural condition.

On her time off, Dr. Mel enjoys spending time with her son, daughter and husband, eating great food, playing outside and walking around our beautiful city!
